Issues: IPTA intake
Tuesday, June 20, 2006
The long awaited IPTA results are finally out and a total of 2,443 seats were secured by Indian students, congrats to all of them.
Funny enough there are certainly very limited seats for critical courses: 925 Medical seats, 205 dentistry seats, 285 pharmacy seats, and 277 law seats. Yet it seems like there are thousands of students fighting for these seats and for medicine alone there would probably be 5,000 applicants if not more..
We do understand the plight of some really bright students who have not been given courses of their choice neither been given a decent course at all. Unfortunately, the loopholes in the system would require great meticulation while listing down one's 8 courses of choice with a good mixture of courses.
However, failing to secure an IPTA seat is not the end of the world and there are many other options available. First of all, please make an effort to reappeal. If that effort still fails, try private universities. Those students who find difficulty in funding their studies may still apply for institutions such as UNITEN, MMU, UNISEL, UTP, and AIMST whereby the fee is not skyrocket high and PTPTN loans are available. Please do not blatantly apply for a course, try reading up a little to get a rough idea on what would be thought.
To those students who have secured a seat and have any enquiries at all (the registration, courses, university life etc), please feel free to drop us an email at msiswa@gmail.com.

yeah..once again the intake has started and the culture of ragging the juniors will be passed down from one generation to another generation.Last year's juniors will attained the level of senior and start to show their civilised manner once again..Then there will be another group of people who will definitely succumb to drinks and smokes..Those people who onli had the smell of "viboothi" will have JD and Chivas Regal on them..not to forget Dunhill..Not only the guys gets involved but the chance of equal rights brought the gals to that stage as well..we can see many of them dressing up(actuallly lesser cloths) and going to clubbing in the pretext of being social..(bullshit)..and no prize for guessing wat happens when gals meets the guys there..(i said no PRIZE :p)And besides that those "guys" who were soft will become softer..These are the few scenarios we will see in the new intake..not forgetting the the people getting bfs/gfs... some changing like cloths..
I wonder when our race will change their mentality..given the precious chances but blewing it up has been synonymous with indians..May god save INDIANS>...
